Maintenance on Turbine Inlet Housing

Location: Freeport, Texas

Purpose/Opportunity:

A client tasked us with a project requiring cleaning, painting, and corrosion repair on their turbine inlet housing. The challenge was to accomplish this without using conventional sandblasting equipment to remove the corrosion.

Methods:

Our crew utilized a dry ice blasting rig to effectively remove all corrosion from the inlet housing. Following this, we applied the required three-coat paint to protect the inlet housing from future corrosion.

Results/Benefits:

The Strike crew assigned to this project brought extensive experience in performing similar tasks within such facilities, enabling them to complete the work safely and efficiently. They successfully removed the corrosion and repainted all affected areas. The on-site crew consisted of 5 members and the project lasted approximately 3 weeks in Freeport, TX.
