2013 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year®

Steve Pate, Strike's Chairman and CEO, has been awarded the 2013 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year for Construction and Industrial Services in the Gulf Coast Region. The Entrepreneur Of The Year® Award recognizes high-growth entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in areas such as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses, employees, and communities. As a regional award recipient, he has qualified for the national awards ceremony to be held in Palm Springs, California this November.

Upon receipt of the award, Steve responded, "I am honored to lead the Strike team; a true success story is never only one person. I have six incredible partners and over 2,500 talented and dedicated employees that have made this company what it is today. Together, we will continue to help define who we become in the future. God has His hand on us as a working family and continues to bless us year after year with opportunities and talent to make a difference, not only in this industry, but in the lives of others as well. What a privilege to work with each and every person at this company; thank you all so much."

In 2003, Steve Pate and his partners saw a need in the Midstream Energy sector, leading to the creation of Strike, LLC. Strike's foundation is built on the pillars of Safety, Quality, Accountability, and Integrity through partnering. Over the past 10 years, Steve has worked diligently to create a culture around each of these pillars and his commitment to excellence has always gone beyond the bottom line.

Steve is passionate about giving back. Campaign for Change defines Strike's philanthropic endeavor. Recent organizations Campaign for Change has donated time and resources to include Freedom Place, Yellowstone Academy, American Cancer Society, SkyHigh for St. Jude's, the City of West, Texas, the US Army and many more. At the end of May, a team of 25 people were sent to Moore, Oklahoma to feed volunteers and victims of the tornados. Thousands of meals, hours and dollars were given to the residents of Moore. Later this summer in August, Campaign for Change will partner with KaBoom, an organization that builds playgrounds in underserved communities, to build a playground for a Montgomery County school.

In addition to his commitment to Strike, Steve Pate is an active member of the Houston Pipeliner's Association, Houston Safari Club, The 12th Man Foundation and Woodlands Church. He is also a past President of the Houston Contractors Association. Steve and Marta, his wife, have three children and two grandsons.
