Job Summary:

The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for supervising monthly accounting procedures, applying

accepted accounting principles and procedures, analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and related disclosures, and to ensure appropriate accounting control procedures.

Primary Job Function:

  • Lead the overall month-end close process including the maintenance of the closing calendar, review of the general ledger, and the preparation and distribution of applicable financial reports.
  • Supervise the Accounting department to ensure all monthly financial reporting deadlines are met in accordance with upper management expectations.
  • Perform financial statement variance analysis on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare consolidated and subsidiary financial statements and research issues to ensure proper US GAAP treatment.
  • Monitor compliance with the company’s accounting policies and procedures.
  • Assist with the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.
  • Respond to inquiries from the Controller, CFO, and firm wide managers regarding financial results, and special reporting requests.
  • Prepare Journal Entries and account reconciliations as needed.
  • Review and approve Journal Entries and monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations.
  • Create financial reports for upper management as needed.
  • Coordinate with external auditors for interim and year-end audit processes including preparation of audit schedules, organization and review of supporting documentation for the audit, and ensure a clean and timely filing of each year-end financial statement audit.
  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of financial reporting procedures and stay current on US GAAP regulations by attending various continuing education seminars/conferences.
  • Provide training and guidance to new and existing staff as needed.
  • Assist Controller with special projects as necessary.
  • Attend staff meetings or other company sponsored or mandated meetings as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Ability to work off-hours and overtime with required.


  • Minimum 5 years accounting experience handling all aspects of general accounting functions.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS products, specifically Excel and SharePoint.


  • BBA or BS in Accounting is required.
  • CPA certification is required.
  • Master’s in Business Administration or Master’s in Professional Accounting, preferred.


  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint and Outlook), required.
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel, required.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, required.
  • Supervisory experience, preferred.
  • Knowledge about the Construction industry, preferred.
  • Position requires fluency in English; written and oral communication.
